The Faces Behind BizCom: Alex Preusser

Alex Preusser rejoins the agency full time!

Coming from Wilmington, North Carolina, Alex is officially joining BizCom as a Digital Account Manager after earning her MBA at Belmont University. Alex first joined BizCom in March 2021 as a digital intern. She served a key role managing BizCom’s social pages among other client work.

With her return, BizCom is ecstatic to welcome back such an incredible employee, and we cannot wait to see what she will bring to the table for both our clients and our agency.

Why did you choose PR?

I was a journalism major in college, but I learned about PR basics through my classes. With my journalism background, I feel I have a unique perspective since I have experience on the media side as well as the PR side. I found my passion for PR through my work with TCU Athletics and my internship with BizCom. I love helping clients tell their stories through digital and traditional platforms!

What have you been up to since you interned with BizCom?

Since I interned at BizCom, I earned my MBA at Belmont University and completed a part-time fellowship with Vanderbilt in their athletic department. After graduation, I moved back to North Carolina because I missed the beach too much!

What is the best advice you could give someone looking to start their career in PR?

My best advice would be don’t be scared to learn or start something, especially if you know nothing about it. With my work in journalism and sports, I didn’t know too much about the actual PR industry, and I was nervous to start my internship at BizCom because I didn’t have a traditional PR background. However, I was able to jump in, learn a lot and find a passion for it!

How do you feel about returning to BizCom after being an intern?

I feel great about returning to BizCom because it feels like I’m coming “home.” BizCom is a big family, and everyone has shown me tremendous support throughout my time as an intern and my time in graduate school. Everyone I met in Nashville, I’m sure, can attest that I kept talking about the agency and compared a lot of work cultures to it. I feel BizCom can help me grow and is a perfect place to start my career.
